A Carsick Dog and A Medicated Lorenzo

I spent a couple days in NJ/NY before flying to Istanbul to hang out with my friend Sarah. The first day we went into NYC to grab a bagel and walk around. I didn’t think NYC had bad bagels, but the Chelsea Market’s bagels were terrible. At least the market was cool. After our disappointing bagel, we walked the High Line.

The second day, we went hiking in Palisades Park along the West Hudson. We took her German Shepherd, Roxy, with us who iapparently has an inner ear condition worse than mine and got car sick, throwing up twice all over the back. I empathy-gagged when I heard her ralphing and smelled the regurgitated dog food. After chowing down on some grass to settle her stomach, Roxy seemed just fine. Maybe I should throw out all my ear patches, ginger, Dramamine, and wrist bands, and just pick some free grass before I go on my next boat trip.

The Big Adventure! The Mediterranean

route600

In less than a week, I will be heading out on my 3-month tour-de-force of the Mediterranean. This is something I’ve always wanted to do, and I finally have the money so I’m taking some time off to travel. I will be starting in Turkey, then to Greece, Morocco, Spain, France, Italy, Switzerland, Croatia, back to Italy, stopover in London on the way back to The States, landing in New York City to visit my ol’ hood, then finally home to Texas.

I have a ton of projects I’m trying to finish up before I go, as well as pack and move my stuff into storage, donate my car, get vaccinations, and try to fit three months (and three seasons) of clothing and camera and computer gear all into one carry-on and a backpack. This is going to be a rough week.

But check back next week as I beginning en-route updates. Viva la aventura!
